Project Description

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Journal Club (OMFSJC)

The goal of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Journal Club (OMSJC) is to expand the knowledge and exposure to the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) through presentation of literature and community outreach programs. To fulfill this goal, OMSJC will encourage its members the use of all available resources such as peer reviewed publications, guest speakers, experts in the field, as well as its own peers and faculty. Implementation of evidence based dentistry is vital for the success of the general practitioner and specialist in customizing treatment plans and providing the best care for its patients.

In conjunction with the main goal, OMSJC will also establish a support network to unite its members with faculty and local specialists who share the common interest of the club. This will offer members the opportunity to learn from experts in the field and provide guidance for those interested in further advancement in the field of OMFS. The club will promote interdisciplinary learning within the fields of dentistry and encompass other branches of medicine to provide a more holistic approach in becoming a well-rounded dental professional.
